Were psilocybin mushrooms the “Manna from heaven” in the Bible?

Psilocybin Truffles

Exodus 16: 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.

Psalm 78: 23 Yet he gave a command to the skies above and opened the doors of the heavens; 24 he rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven. 25 Man ate the bread of angels; he sent them all the food they could eat.

Deuteronomy 8:3 And he (God) humbled you and let you know hunger and fed you with  manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone but that man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

Numbers 11: 7 Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like that of bdellium. 8 The people went about and gathered it and ground it in handmills or beat it in mortars and boiled it in pots and made cakes of it. And the taste of it was like the taste of cakes baked with oil.

Hebrews 9: 1 Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary.  2 A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand, the table and the consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place.  3 Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place,  4 which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark [made of Acacia wood] contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.  5 Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover, but we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

Is it possible that the bible was really a mushroom based religion? Could it be that eating the body of Christ is actually symbolic of partiaking ina mushroom ceremony? These ideas are so interesting to contemplate!

Below is a video of Truffle hunting that still goes on in the middle east today.

  1. I just had this exact thought today…because mushrooms WOULD seem like magic to anyone who didn’t understand the underground mycelium network. To be truthful, I told my son today that I believe plants on “alien” planets are designed after mushrooms seen here on Earth. They appear to be “out of this world”, so to speak…lol.
